The Stock Market AI Bubble
I’m a big fan of The Compound finance podcast w/ Michael Batnick & regular CNBC contributor Josh Brown. They are team members at NYC-based Ritholtz Wealth Management.
Yesterday they discussed the explosion in the stock price of publicly listed, artificial intelligence companies.
Due to the nature of existing AI ETFs holding many companies that are not specifically AI-centric, investors are piling into C3.ai, BigBear.ai, and SoundHound AI. There are no other AI focussed companies that are publicly listed and all the cash piling into these few stocks is creating a bubble.
With their booming popularity, and a scarcity of alternatives, we may see the IPO drought be broken later on in the year with AI companies looking to raise capital on public markets whilst they are on fire.
