Hello again, back from my break but bringing you 102 new AI Startup jobs while I am here in Split, Croatia - birthplace of Roman Emperor Diocletian and location of his famous Dalmatian Palace.

Spotlight on Croatian Startups 🇭🇷
Since I am in Split today, I will take some time to share some of what is going on in the Croatian startup ecosystem.
Like the Croatian National Soccer team, the country itself punches above it’s weight with respect to the size of it’s tech ecosystem. For a country of 3.8 million people there are currently two private unicorns dominating the ecosystem.
Infobip is a Twilio communications software competitor headquartered in Istria. In a region known for beaches, wine, exceptional food and truffles, they have quietly gone in a completely different direction to the local industry to grow a tech business with over $1 billion in revenue and over 3,000 employees in almost 20 years.
The second unicorn is a bit more famous, Rimac Group. They are known for their Nevera electric Hypercar and also ownership of French Supercar manufacturer Bugatti. While the business has made headlines for the vehicle, it has been quietly using their expertise to build a business in electric drivetrains and energy storage. With Goldman Sachs and Softbank coming in for their latest Series D raise, it seems that the business will not be private for long.
Both Infobip and Rimac are late stage now with both coming up to public listings. With potential liquidity events coming in the next 5 years it will be interesting to see how much of the capital will come back into growing the next generation of Croatian startups.
